Description

Light weight sandwich board having the skins made of raw Okoumè (Gaboon) or decorative marine plywood (thick in accordance with the customer’s needs), and a core of end-grain Balsa wood of density of 150 kg/m³ and compressive strength of about 115 kg/cm².
The sandwich structure was born many years ago to drastically reduce the weight of the means of transport without reducing their features. Balsapan is made of skins of marine plywood in the thickness of 3, 4 and 5 mm in accordance with the compositions required. The light weight sandwich boards Balsapan have been engineered to build partition and self-bearing bulkheads, floorings, under-decks, flying bridges, superstructures, furniture and ceilings. They are used on aeroplanes, trains (for railways and undergrounds), buses, hydrofoils and fast ferries.
For special uses, and upon request, the sandwich boards Balsapan are produced thicker than 50 mm with skins both of Isophon Light and already equipped with approved pipes for cables.
