Description

Panels for interior use (furniture, bulkheads, floorings) and external uses (decks, flying bridges, bath platforms, etc.) made with a core of Okoumè (Gaboon) marine plywood veneered with Iroko having a thickness of mm. 0.6 , 2.2 in accordance with the final use of the plywood. The available finishing are:

  • smooth;
  • grooved;
  • with hite wood insert;
  • with black wood insert;
  • with black rubber insert.
  • with white rubber insert.

Botanical name

Chlorophora Excelsa it belongs to the family of Moraceae.

Growth area

West and East Africa.

Technical characteristic

Golden orange to brown, the material ay contain large, hard deposits of calcium carbonate in cavities.
The grain is interlocked and sometimes irregual and the texture rather coarse but even.

Seasoning

It dries fairly rapidly and well without much degrade. There is small movement in service.

Specific gravity

Weight about 640 kg./m3. S.G. 0,64

Uses

Ship and boat building, interior and exterior joinery. It is a structural timber suitable for piling and marine work.
Also for plywood manufacture and slice for wall paneling and decorative veneers.
