Description

Light weight sandwich board with skins made of raw Okoumè (Gaboon) or decorative marine plywood (thick in accordance with the customer’s needs) and a core of Polypropylene Honey Comb having a density of 80 kg/m³ and compressive strength of about 13 kg/cm².
The sandwich structure was born many years ago to drastically reduce the weight of the means of transport without reducing their features. Isomar H.C. is made with skins of marine plywood in thickness of 3, 4 and 5 mm in accordance with the compositions required. The light weight sandwich boards Isomar H.C., thanks to the peculiar features of the core, are about 40% stiffer than Isomar sandwich boards of the same thickness and composition: such a high stiffness allows Isomar H.C. to be more stable compared to Isomar. These sandwich boards have been studied to realize partition and self-bearing bulkheads, floorings, under-decks, flying bridges, superstructures, furniture and ceilings. They are used on aeroplanes, trains (for railways and undergrounds), buses, hydrofoils and fast ferries.
For special uses, and upon request, the sandwich boards Isomar H.C. are produced thicker than 50 mm with skins both of Isophon Light and already equipped with approved pipes for cables.
