Description

Light weight sandwich board with skins made of sound insulating composite panels Isophon Light (see specification of the Isophon Light) and a core of rigid PVC foam having a density of 75 kg/m³ and a close cells structure, giving a compressive strength of 15 kg/cm². Being the core a “Freon free” foam, both the thermal and mechanical features remain stable over the years.
The sandwich structure is born many years ago to drastically reduce the weight of the means of transport without reducing their features. The light weight sandwich boards Isomar + Isophon Light have been studied to realize partition and self-bearing bulkheads, floorings, under-decks, flying bridges and superstructures. They are used on trains (for railways and undergrounds), buses, hydrofoils and fast ferries.
For special uses, and upon request, the sandwich boards Isomar + Isophon Light are produced thicker than 50 mm with skins both of Isophon or Isophon Light and already equipped with approved pipes for cables. On request we can also supply the sandwich boards tooled by the means of cnc in kits and special shapes on design of the shipyard.
