Description

Light weight sandwich board with skins made of raw Okoumè (Gaboon) or decorative marine plywood and a core of rigid PVC foam having a density of 75 kg/m³ and a close cells structure, giving a compressive strength of 15 kg/cm². Being the core a “Freon free” foam, both the thermal and mechanical features remain stable over the years.
The sandwich structure was born many years ago to drastically reduce the weight of the means of transport without reducing their features. The light weight sandwich board Isomar Screw, which was “invented” to avoid the use of expansions bolts but normal screws, is made with skins of marine plywood 3, 4 and 5 mm thick, in accordance with the composition required. This sandwich board has been studied to realize partition and self-bearing bulkheads, floorings, under-decks, flying bridges, superstructures, furniture and ceilings. It is used on aeroplanes, trains (for railways and undergrounds), buses, hydrofoils and fast ferries.
For special uses, and upon request, the sandwich board Isomar Screw can be produced thicker than 50 mm with soundproofing skins both of Isophon Light and already equipped with approved pipes for cables.
