Description
Light weight sandwich board with skins made of raw Okoumè (Gaboon) or decorative marine plywood and a core of rigid PVC foam having a density of 75 kg/m³ and a close cells structure, resulting in a compressive strength of 15 kg/cm². Being the core a “Freon free” foam, both the thermal and mechanical features remain stable over the years.
The sandwich structure was born many years ago to drastically reduce the weight of the means of transport without reducing their features.
The light weight sandwich board Isomar is made with skins of marine plywood 3, 4 and 5 mm thick, in accordance with the composition required. This sandwich board has been studied to realize partition and self-bearing bulkheads, floorings, under-decks, flying bridges, superstructures, furniture and ceilings. It is used on aeroplanes, on trains (for railways and undergrounds) on
buses, hydrofoils and fast ferries.
For special uses, and on request, the sandwich board Isomar can be produced thicker than 50 mm having skins sound proofing composite panels both of Isophon Light and already equipped with approved pipes for cables.
