Description

A sound insulating composite panel which has a very high dampening effect. Made of two skins of Okoumè marine plywood (Gaboon) and a low-density non-toxic core (S.G. about 440 kg/m³) made of caoutchouc and cork.
Isophon Floor is the ideal panel for both sub floor and sub bulkhead structure, fixed on the rough bed floor (or frames or partition bulkheads) for yachts (from 100 ft and above).
Onto these bearers the plywood is screwed to obtain:

• horizontally: a true “floating and dampening floor”;
• vertically: a true “elastic and dampening bulkhead”.

To reduce both thickness and costs, Isophon Floor panel can also be produced with one skin of plywood (Isophon Floor Single Sided) of a suitable thickness for usable floor areas: in this instance the rubber is glued directly onto the rough sub-floor surface (albeit fibreglass, aluminium or steel). On request Isophon Floor is also supplied already cut in stripes of dimensions of about 3080 x 50 mm.
