Description

Sound insulating and sound impedent composite panel with skins of raw Okoumè (Gaboon) or decorative marine plywood (thick in accordance with the customer’s needs) and a medium density thin core made of cork and rubber (3 mm weighs about 3 kg/m²).
The composite panel Isophon Light, thanks to the peculiar characteristics of the cork/rubber insert gives very high performances of sound insulation. The special medium density cork/rubber core (about 1.000 kg/m³) grants a high sound insulation rate: e.g. a 11 mm composite panel thick has a Rw = 30,0 dB and weights of 6,6 kg/m² only.
These features allow:

  1. drastic reduction of thickness of the partition elements;
  2. reduction of the total weight;
  3. increase of privacy on board.

Isophon Light is also used for floorings and sound insulated boxes.
Isophon Light is also an excellent skin for light weight sandwich boards with cores of rigid PVC foam, end-grain Balsa wood or polypropylene honey comb to build partition and self-bearing bulkheads to drastically improve the privacy on board.
